CTO Co-founder

The Context

We are building an ambitious SaaS with a long-term vision of 5 to 10 years. This project benefits from the strength of a spinoff, our parent company generating over €30M. The current MVP is developed in React by the technical teams of the parent company on Claude Code. We are looking for a CTO to build the technical foundation of the product and support its growth.

Your Mission

• Build and structure: You will be in charge of structuring the technical architecture from the start.

• Execute pragmatically: You will need to build the product in a pragmatic way, ensuring solid foundations.

• Arbitrate priorities: You will be responsible for balancing between execution speed and structural quality.

• Protect the product: You will need to select technical priorities and reject requests that weaken the architecture.

• Collaborate: This role is highly strategic on the technical side, but the business vision is carried by the founder.

Your Profile and Mindset

• You have a solid Full Stack mastery, ranging from structuring screens in React to managing APIs, databases, and security.

• You enjoy using cutting-edge AI tools (like Claude Code).

• You have real experience with a B2B SaaS product in production, ideally in Fintech.

• You are capable of delivering a complete project autonomously, aiming for zero micro-management.

• You have a "clean but pragmatic" mentality, understanding perfectly where to accept technical debt and where never to do so.

• You have controlled ego that allows you to accept that the vision comes from the founder while challenging them constructively.

• You show commitment by accepting the inherent uncertainty of the early stage and the assumed possibility of a complete refactor in two years.

Location & Package

• Location: Remote or hybrid based in Biarritz, France

• Remuneration: Package including a salary and equity.

1. Overall Experience

• Seniority: 5 to 10 years of experience in software development and engineering.

• Product Typology: Real and proven experience on a deployed B2B SaaS product in production.

• Sector (Bonus): Previous experience in Fintech is a big plus.

2. Hard Skills

• Full-Stack Mastery: Ability to manage a project end-to-end (Frontend, Backend, databases, API management, and security).

• Frontend Expertise: Proficiency in React (the current MVP being coded with this technology).

• AI & Modernity: Habit and appetite for using generative AI tools for code (proficiency in Claude Code is specifically expected).

• Architecture: Ability to design, structure, and protect the technical architecture from day one.
